About the doctor

Eighteen years of listening to hearts — and to people.

I trained in internal medicine before specialising in cardiology, which means I look at your whole health picture, not just an ECG strip. My clinic runs on long consultations, plain-language explanations and a written plan you leave with.

My approach to your care

“Most heart disease in this city is caught late — not because the tests are unavailable, but because symptoms get waved away as stress or acidity. My job is to take your breathlessness, your palpitations and your family history seriously the first time you mention them.”

Dr. Ananya Rao MD, DM (Cardiology), FACC — Consultant Cardiologist

What patients say afterwards.

Verified reviews from Google and Practo. Names shortened at patient request.

★★★★★

My father had been told his breathlessness was “just age”. Dr. Rao spent forty minutes with us, ordered one echo and found the actual problem. The plan she wrote out is still on our fridge door.

I was terrified of starting BP medication at 38. She explained the numbers, then started me on the lowest possible dose and reviewed me every month. Two years on, my readings are normal.

After my angioplasty elsewhere, I wanted a second opinion on whether I really needed more stents. Dr. Rao reviewed the films patiently and told me honestly that I didn't. That kind of integrity is rare.

Questions

Before your visit.

How do I book, and how soon can I be seen?
Use the appointment form on this page or call the clinic on +91 80 4123 7788. Routine consultations are usually available within 2–3 working days. Urgent reviews for chest pain, new breathlessness or palpitations are accommodated the same day wherever possible.
What should I bring to my first appointment?
Bring any previous ECG, echo, stress test or angiogram reports, recent blood work (lipid profile, HbA1c, creatinine), a list of your current medicines with doses, and your insurance card if you plan to claim. If you have no reports yet, come as you are — we'll order only what's needed.
How long is a consultation?
First consultations are scheduled for 30 minutes, follow-ups for 15–20 minutes. If an ECG or echo is required, plan for roughly 60–75 minutes at the clinic in total.
Do you accept insurance and cashless claims?
Yes. The clinic is empanelled for cashless outpatient and day-care procedures with most major Indian insurers, and a TPA desk is available on site to help with paperwork. Please carry your policy card and a photo ID.
Can I get a second opinion without travelling to Bengaluru?
Yes. Upload your reports and angiogram films through the appointment form, selecting “Second opinion / report review” as the reason. You'll receive a written opinion within 48 working hours, followed by a video consultation if needed.
What should I do in an emergency?
Do not wait for an appointment. For chest pain lasting more than 10 minutes, fainting or severe breathlessness, call 108 immediately or go to the nearest emergency department. Emergencies are never handled through this website.
